Add-On Waitlist - Do We Need To Keep Calling

We have been on DVC's waitlist to purchase 75 BWV pts. June UY for about 10 days. I saw it mentioned in another thread that you should "keep calling your guide" to make sure he keeps checking, because if he doesn't you could be on the list for a very long time.

I thought the waitlist was computerized & automatic - when pts. became available in our UY and we were next on the waitlist we would be called to verify that we still wanted them. (In fact, they took our credit card # & our guide said the $500. deposit would automatically be charged to hold the points until they got in touch with us).

So does anyone know for sure - does our guide need to keep scanning the system for available points or does the system let him know when points become available for people he has waitlisted?

Thanks for any help - I'd hate to keep calling him if he's just waiting like we are!

When we've added on through Disney, the waitlist for points was automatic. When the points became available we got them. We've added on through a waitlist twice.

One time, I goofed. We were on a waitlist for 50 VWL, and a contract came up resale, and we bought it. 2 months or so later, Michelle, our guide, called to say that the waitlist came through for us. I had to decline the points  I felt bad that I had just ignored her and didn't get off the waitlist when we bought resale.

In November we went on the WL for BCV 50 pts. Just last week our guide called and said the WL came through and a few days later the $500 was charged to our credit card. The paperwork was sent right after. Hope this helps.

In my 2 experiences (original purchase and recent add-on) the process was automatic. It would be a lot of work for the guides if they had to keep scanning, I doubt it works this way.
