Hey DVC friends - I hope someone can answer my question.
We are existing members, but want to add on with a new UY. I've read on here that Disney sort of considers us new members because of that and will require we purchase the minimum buy in to the new UY. We are planning to add on 125 points at AKV, so that isn't a concern. But can we get the add-on/existing member incentives? For AKV, the incentive difference is $7 per point!
I fear the answer is no, but thought I'd ask.
Thanks in advance for any info!

:confused3:) You can add on with as little as 25points. I would add on 2 smaller point contracts since they would be easier to resale. Of course the more points you purchase from Disney, the better the incentive. Yes you would get money off and possible 2009 points if the UY you choose has not occurred yet and if Disney has them available. So you could get June, august, dec, etc.

:) So you could buy half the points now, get 2009 points plus the 2010 points coming in say, this December. Bank the 2009 points into 2010 and have maybe enough for a trip for a couple of years. Then add on again when those run out.....just a thought. If you are going to add on 125 for sure I would think you could break up the points and still get incentives for the totla purchased

You should get the incentives that are offered for members. When you ask for a new UY, you are simply required to meet minimum purchase but are not considered new members.

The contract itself will be a new membership, with its own membership number, and you won't be able to combine those points for a single night reservation without using a your once per UY transfer.

But, you will qualify for those incentives. If your guide says no, then ask to speak to a supervisor.

I agree that you ought to qualify for the add-on incentives even though you're doing a different UY.
