We currently have a contract with an AUG UY at VWL. We wanted to add a small contract at BCV. We called our guide because at the time the cost of points plus closing, it was less expensive to buy directly from Disney rather than resale. We are willing to take any UY but our guide told us, we had to wait for AUG - is this true? We have been on the waitlist since late Feb because of this.

I understand we would not be able to combine the points, but the BCV contract was going to be so small we would use it only to travel there every other year in a studio.

Yes, add-ons will have the same Use Year as the master contract. If you want a different Use Year, you will need to purchase a new master contract of 160 or more points. If DVC does not currently have your Use Year, you will need to wait until points become available to them.

Resale purchases have no such restriction, so you could purchase a small resale with any Use Year.

Thank you for your reply. Because we bought our first contract through resale, we did not know this rule. So, I was skeptical of what our guide told us because I am starting to get just a little impatient waiting.

The waiting for the points, and the process of going through ROFR - is a very similar stress.
