I know this has probably been asked here before, but anyway, if we buy a small add on through DVC I know you get the same UY, but how do they handle the maint fees for the add on and what are the rules as far as banking those points if you don't have the chance to use them before your anniversary date?

Let's say we buy a 50 point add on in Oct and our UY is March and we will not have a chance to use the points until sometime after March. What are the banking rules? We'd be in our 50% banking time. Would they add the 50 points to our original points and then take 50% of that number to figure how many points we could bank?

Are the maint fees pro-rated for the last 3 months of the year or since you can in theory use the 50 points prior to your next UY that you pay the whole years MF?

I hope I'm not making this more difficult than it is, but we definitely are going to add on and think that making small point purchases when we can afford it instead of financing is the way to go.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

They will add the 50 points to the number you already have and that number is what they take 50% of.

They prorate the maintenace fees. We bought a small add on in February, and we paid the MF for the 11 months left in '05. I actually think it was calculated on the date of the purchase, not for the whole month.

Another related question-
do you have to fill out all of that paperwork and get it notarized again if you are doing an add on?

Any ideas of where I should stay with my family for a 4 day - 3 night trip to Disney (Sea World) area. I would like to stay in a nice clean hotel or resort that won't cost a fortune.

The only time you need a notary is if you are doing a mortgage through DVC.
There is still some paperwork to be done, however.

Good luck! :drinking:

Sorry for being dumb :confused3 but if I am already a member and financed through them and have already done all the paperwork, then decide to do an add-on, I have to do it all again if I'm financing?

Hi refurnas, and WELCOME to the DIS Boards!
There are tons of places that fit your criteria. You will probably get better responses on the Orlando hotel/attractions board.

Enjoy your trip! :drinking:

I believe you must do all paperwork except part of the credit form.
I say that cautiously, as it's been a couple years since I've added on.

I think the notarized thing is legal mumbo-jumbo when securing a mortgage, not a Disney thing.

Again, it's been a while so I could be wrong. :drinking:
