Add On Question

While we were in WDW in August, we added to our existing points for AKV
(100 points more).

Since then, and until this morning, I was unable to bank or borrow those extra points but today they were fully added to our UY (August for all points). There are now annual dues due on those points under our Accounts page but I remember last year, we paid the annual dues for 2008 and the pro rata for 2007 (from August to December) in January 2008.

Should the same not happen this time? I have no problem paying the pro rata dues for 2008 on these new points now, as long as I don't get charged again in January 2009. Would anyone be able to clarify - prior to me ringing MS?

I have seen the same thing with ours. i would just call & ask to see what is going on. we did not have to pay anything extra. Ours is paid on a per month basis too.

Interesting......did you do the new incentive? We added on Aug. 22nd 100 pts and we don't pay any dues til May 09 and those will be prorated our guide said. Our UY is 0ct. so we can't use those points now anyway and can't book at AKV til May. I am interested to know what comes of your situation. Keep us posted. I would think that you would only pay from Aug-Dec. but maybe now???

We bought into Jambo house instead of Kidani (100 points split over three contracts) so we would be able to use the points immediately from 1st August 08 (was a bit tricky but they managed it!).I'm presuming it will be the maintenance on those 100 points from August to December 08 but will ring to clarify today.

hmmmmmm so did you get any incentives for this or was it just adding on points? However you will be able to book Kidani in the future at the 11 month window because you own at AKV right?? I don't think those of us that bought into Kidani are restricted to only being able to book Kidani at the 11 month? Am I right on this??

Sorry, meant to answer that question in the last post - we got 100 developer points to be used with the restrictions SSR or interval international or DL. And there was a gift card, but I'm not sure if we get that, or if it pays into the deposit (for some reason I didn't seem focus on this! - so unlike me!)

By buying into Kidani only restricts your reservation until May 09, after that regardless of Jambo house or Kidani, you are an owner in AKV.

Yes now we are. We are SSR owners but we added on 100 pts in Aug. also. We got the same incentives as you. We are using our dp in Nov. So.....basically you got the same deal but could use your points right away. I wonder if people know they can do that. Did you get 07 points and then 08 too?? Like when we bought in Jan. 07 at SSR ..and our UY was Oct. we got 06 points then of course our points came in Oct. 07.

There was a limited number of Jambo House points left - we had to buy three separate contracts to make up the 100 points. I requested this so that we would have an extra 100 08 points available to us (none for 2007) to be used by end July 2009. If you buy Kidani then you wouldn't have to pay the maintanance but wouldn't have points available until 2009.

We'll use the 100 developer points next August too.

Rang MS and yes, the dues that are appearing are for the 100 points from August to December.
