I own 220 pts at SSR. I am going to add on probably 80 pts. I cant see what sense it makes to add on anywhere else because then I would only be able to use 80 pts at the 11 month window. Wouldnt it be smarter to have all 300 pts at one resort? That way with 300 pts good chance to maybe get a GV at 11 months out. A lot of people own at multiple resorts and was just wondering if I am missing something? Thank you for any input.

It depends on what you want to do I suppose. Some people have small contracts at two or three resorts and then use banking and borrowing and stay at a different resort each year. For example, if I owned 75 points at VWL, 75 at BCV, and 75 at OKW I could travel each year with 225 points at one of my three resorts, rotating resorts each year.

Given your situations I would add on at AKV or hold out for CRV. If you just need a few more points here and there, you can always buy them to be transferred in. While you might only have the 80 points for the other resort, you can do a lot with that. By banking and borrowing you can get together as much as 240 points. And you can book a number of week nights even in a 2 BR in most cases and then book the remainder at SSR 11 months out then try to change over day by day at the other resort at 7 months out. And given you're giving up nothing since you could still get essentially anything at SSR at 7 months out, you have nothing to lose and a lot to gain with another home resort.
