add on points

Am I correct in thinking that if I buy an add on before the start of my next UY i.e ,May 2010 ( I have a June 2010 uy)I will recive 2009 points??

Typically, yes. There have been cases where they did not have the points.

I also have a June UY and will be adding on another 50 points at BLT in January. When I talked to my guide this week, he said it should not be a problem for me to get 09 points when I add on in January as he believes they should still have points. This way, I will still be in the banking window and will bank the points. I have read that usually Disney allows banking during an add on (if beyond the window) but just in case they change the rule, I want to be in a position where it doesn't matter.

If they don't, then I won't add on until June.

Yes you should be able to receive this years points.

I purchased a BVW add on last year in Nov with a Dec UY. I asked my guide if any BVW points with Dec UY were available. She checked and when she returned she told "Yes and I see that they have 07 points, so you'll be receiving those also". The way she said that led me to believe that previous year's points are not always available. Of course it could be a sales tactic to make me think I was getting "extra" points. Also you will pay MF's on a pro-rated basis on these points, so the later you buy the less MF's you'll pay.
