We own a small contract enough to stay in a studio 5 nites. We are thinking of adding on thru disney for enough points to stay in an one bedroom. But will they take 3 nites points from one contract and 2 nites from the other? My question is since disney gives us the same use year, can I combine the two same resort contract points together? If not our original contract would buy 3 nites in an one bedroom and then have a handful of points left in that contract. Thanks. We are deciding how many points we need to add.

Points for the same resort and same use year can be pooled for a single reservation at the 11 month mark, and any points (regardless of resort) can be pooled at the 7 month mark. Therefore, if you will be adding on with the same resort and use year, they could be used for a single reservation.

Or you buy contract 2 at a different resort with the same/similiar # of points and bank/borrow to go to a different place every other year. Say in 2009 you use all (reserved at 11 months) contract 1 2009 points and borrow contract 1 2010 points. And you bank all of contract 2 points into 2010. Then in 2010 you go to resort 2 (using the 2009 and 2010 points) .. then repeat.

Or a slightly more complex but more affordable, add 1/3 needed weekly points on contract 2 and stay (each year) 1 2 1 1 2 1 1 2..
(2009 use all contract 1 points and half of 2010. Bank all of contract 2 into 2010.
2010 use all contract 2 2009, 2010 and borrowed 2011 points. Bank remaining half of contract 1
2011 use contract 1 banked and current 2011 points. Contract 2 has no remaining points.

If you purchase an add on with the same resort and use year, while legally two contracts, it will be under your same membership number, and will for all practical purposes, operate as a single contract. If you do the add on through resale, be sure to advise your reseller and DVC you want them combined under one membership before the contract goes to closing, if you purchase the add on through Disney, no problem, it will be done automatically.

If you have ywo different resorts, but the same use year, they will also be under your same membership number, but the points can combine at 7 months, not 11.

Two resorts, with two use years, would be two completely separate contracts, with two different membership numbers. You would have to transfer points from one to the other to combine their use for a single night, or reserve part of a stay with one membership, and the remaining days with another membership.

Thank you. Your answers are actually what we wanted to hear. That the two contracts would work as one.
