Seems like this time last year, we had a bad case of add-on-itis. And it's happened again. We just got off the phone with our guide to add on an additional 160 points at SSR. That brings us to 475 and that's enough :) We have them all at SSR with an October use year. So as soon as we sign by the Mickey and date by the Palm Tree later this week, we'll be done adding on points.

We already have some trips planned so hopefully we won't have any trouble re-allocating points so we can use up the extra 160 we get for this year that was part of the incentive. And we will get the $500 on our Disney Rewards Card whcih will be nice as we can use it for our expenses on our DCL cruise we're taking in April.

We were trying to figure out what to do for our summer vacation next summer, so with this infusion of points, we are going to look at some non-Disney options. I can't wait for the new points book to come out!

Anyway, this is definitely our :santa: gift to each other. Just had to share my happy news!

glad you are happy. Cindy.

Now I would add on at another resort - but hey everyone is different!!!

Congratulations on your add on!!!

Now, you got me thinking...we could really use some more AKV points...:goodvibes

Thanks. We opted to add at SSR instead of AKV for a few reasons. One, the incentive was better for SSR than AKV ($10/point vs $8/point). Two, annual dues were more at AKV than SSR (gotta feed and care for all those animals at AKV vs. just keeping the grass mowed for the golfers at SSR) :rotfl2: and three, we don't have a strong preference about where we stay among the DVC properties so having a different resort than SSR doesn't afford us any advantage that we would actually use. We live in Florida and generally don't book more than 7 months out anyway, and since we're happy with SSR, when we do want to book further out, we just book at SSR anyway. We generally end up staying at OKW, although we've stayed at SSR three times and VWL twice.

Add-on-itis is hard to shake. I have contracts xxx.0 through xxx.12 (yes, I've added on 12 times so far). Luckily, most of my add-ons are small point packages.

Congrats on your add-on. Do you really believe it will be your last? :rolleyes1

Hee hee - -well, I think it will be our last at least til next December :) But seriously, I think for how we'll use it for now, it will be our last at least for a while. We started with 200 and then added 115 last year. The kids are now 11 1/2 and 10 and we're feeling cramped in a studio, so adding the extra points means we won't have to do studios unless we're just feeling really really cheap. But I hear ya :)

DVC Mike - 12 add ons is impressive! Would you mind telling us your total number of points?

In the interest of full disclosure, when my current add on attempt passes ROFR, I'll have 325. (My wife doesn't care for studios any more)

All of my point add-ons are small (25-points, 30-points, and 40-points). Thus, I only have 607 points total, spread across my four home resorts. So, that's not a lot per resort.

However, there's only two of us (no kids!), and by booking a combination of 1-BR's most of the time and studios some of the time, we get 4 weeks at WDW a year -- a week at each of my four favorite resorts.

I guess it will make it easier to do small reductions in ownership in any particular resort should I want or need to in the future.

Plus, I have a lot of DVC bags! :rotfl2:

I am in for 300 pts. (only one add on)

200 pts at AKV
100 pts at BCV

but it does never seem to be enough :confused3

With 5 of us and needing larger accomodations the need for more is always there.

We now officially have add-on-itis.

With 100 points, I knew it was going to happen.

We will use all of our 2008 points in January, but can borrow our '09 points as early as February. We would like to go back to HH in November and take family, and then back to WDW in March of '09 for [gulp] my 40th birthday.

Now is really not a good time so I am anxiously waiting for my innoculation (maintenance fees) in January.

Well we started with 270 at akv then added 110 at akv due to the incentive and annoucement of hawaii :confused3

with a family of five akv seems like the best choice. :cool1:

I wouldn't be surpised if I had one more add on in a few years :rotfl2:

I started with a 70 pt. BCV in August 2006. I now have (gulp) 540 pts spread over 9 contracts!
My name is Deb and I have a problem....:confused3

I guess I could have worse addictions.
Just waiting for GCV to start selling.

You guys are making me laugh, but I have to tell you that even with 475 points now (we shipped our paperwork back on Saturday), I can still spend them all faster than I'd like to admit :)

Now to call and see if Member Services can "re-allocate" some of our points so that our developer points will be used and free up our regular points for possible banking.
