Add on DDP for 07

Can I add on the Disney Dinning Package latter on, or do I have to get DDP as a package, Room,Tickets,DDP?? I would like to just book room only now for May 07 and then add on DDP when it comes available,is this possiable??? Thanks...

Unless you're staying on DVC points, you do need to get the Dining Plan as part of a package: hotel, admission, plus dining.

It isn't clear that there would be any advantage in booking a room-only, unless you would intend to stick with room-only if the package was never offered (it most surely will be), since, unless things change next year, at the time you book the package, there needs to be package inventory available. So you'd have just as much ability to book the package whether you held a room-only reservation or not.

Disney is now booking something called a basic package, which is very much like a room only ressie but with package rules on when you pay (I think).

When prices come out for DDP you can then upgrade it to a full package. The advantage is you can reserve exactly what you want and you do not need to cancel and rebook. Some resort/view combos at some times of year are harder to get. So there is an advantage to being able to do it this way.

An additional benifit is your ressie # stays the same so ADR's do not need to get transfered over to the new ressie #, which has caused some people problems in the past. The people on the resort boards can tell you all about it.

In Feb I made my room only res for ASMO in May/ June 07. I put $1000 down, and I am sure I wont have any trouble upgrading to a pkg in Feb when I get that income tax ref.
