What is the current add on price for 50 points at BCV if purchasing from DVC? Does DVC still pick up all closing costs? Does it make more sense to buy a small contract from DVC and avoid the closing costs? Does anyone know how long the wait would be for a September UY? What should I expect to pay in the secondary market? Despite the novelty and (assuming) a later contract expiration, BVC still seems to fit my life better than BLT. Thanks!

$104 a point to addon with no closing costs. Only a guide could give you an estimate of the wait time.

We added 150 points to our BCV points in August. $104pp, no closing costs. We went on the wait list in early July, with an August UY. We were told there were 2 ppl ahead of us, and they were looking for about 800 points in total. Our add on came thru mid August. We were told by our guide that points for your UY are most likely to come thru in the first month or so of your UY, as they don't want to give out prior year points. So if you want Sept points, this is the month to call and Get "er Done!

Good luck
Diane

Good info Diane, thanks for sharing with us. We are thinking of just adding on more points at BCV instead of buying into BLT too. Our use year is June. The last time we added on it took 3 months to get the additional 50 points which wasn't too bad. We got on the waitlist in June and had the points by mid September.

I never knew you can waitlist a hotel which is not on the market currently through Disney. What are the benefits...seems price at $104 per pt for BCV is MUCH higher than resale at approx, $90. :confused3 I would be curious as we are looking for a small contract and wondering if we will benefit to waitlist thru Disney. Our guide said that they were only selling AKV at the moment.

Once you are a member you can purchase add-on contracts through Disney (25 point minimum purchase) at any DVC resort, not just the latest resort(s) that they are actively marketing. You will most likely be waitlisted sometimes even for months until DVC acquires that particular 'older' resort's points into their inventory.

Resale market prices at these resorts tend to be more attractive but then again the contracts on the resale market can be stripped of points. Contracts purchased through Disney will have points intact.

If you are not a member you can also make your first DVC purchase at an 'older' resort as well although guides are going to promote the latest resorts; so you will probably need to make it very clear to the guide that you absolutely are only interested in purchasing Beach Club for example. Except for AKV which has 100 point minimum purchase at least through Sat., Sept. 20 you would have to purchase 160 point minimum. And again, you probably most certainly will spend some time waitlisted for the 'older' resorts.
