Add on and the Disney CC

Let me start by saying I don't have the Disney Credit Card and I know very little about it. As I understand it you can use a credit card to purchase Points straight from Disney correct? If you use the Dis CC wouldn't you get some sort of bonus from the card? What can this bonus be used for?

Yes you can purchase points with the Disney credit card or most others for that matter.

You get 1% back on purchases. Sometimes they run specials where you can get 2% on some things but not points. You can also delay paying a vacation booked on the card for 6 months without interest.

You call and they give you a card that looks like a debit card that you can use for purchases. We use our's to buy pins when we are at WDW. You can also use it at hotels and restaurants. Not sure about the Disney Store or other locations.

The CM just swipes the card through the electronic reader and the amount of the sale is deducted from the card. Your receipt will tell you how much you have left.

I had a Shell Mastercard that gave you 5% back on Shell purchases and 1% on everything else. I was hoping the Dis CC would be the same deal because if you purchased an add-on with it you could buy quite a few pins, but I guess I'm out of luck. I guess I'll stick with airline miles.

It has also been reported that you can use the Disney Visa Rewards to pay your DVC maintenance fees.

Actually, I was able to add-on with additional BWV points in April. I used my Disney card and was credited with the full 2% rebate (1% standard + 1% special springtime bonus offer). The Disney rewards have already been allocated to my account.

Good going JeffPort!!! I am one of the unfortunate ones that never received the 1% bonus offer. I read about it on the CB and even called the credit card company to ask when I would be eligible and was told it was only marketed to a select few (myself, not included). As someone that charges in excess of $2k every month and always pays on time...this made me very unhappy.

I just use AMEX and get 1 point for 1 dollar.They also have bonuses on everyday spending like gas and food.Last month I had 300 bonus points alone.That's the only card you need.I also pay my DVC bills on it.

the CC is 1% back as disney dollars, which can be used in the park for passes, food, ect. . I got a card back in Nov of 2003 and as of now have 190 disney dollars to use, but we have until Dec 2004 to rack up more.
I use the card every time for gas and groceries and paying DVC even though I pay off the bill every month, just to rack up dollars.
