Add-on 2008 Maintenance Fee

In February we purchased an additional 135 SSR points through the special offer to members ($10/point discount, 100 developer points and 135 2007 points).

I understood there would be no 2008 maintenance fees but today I received a bill for prorated 2008 maintenance fees.

Did anyone else understand there would be no 2008 maintenance fees on the add-on or did I misunderstand?

Yes there are MF's for add-ons in the year you purchase them unless you don't get your points until the next year. I did an add-on this year at AKV and once I close, I am expecting a pro-rated MF bill.

As a matter of fact, I just checked the DVC website. It looks like I have closed because my dues are posted. Oh well, at least it will add a few more points onto my Disney VISA.

You won't pay any additional fees for the 2007 Use Year points you received or the Developer points, but you will still have prorated fees for 2008 based on when your purchase was made. That is a standard policy for add-on thru DVC. If you have purchased on December 1 - you would have still owed one month of prorated fees for the current year.
