I have rented 2 DVC studios at OKW for a week in January through a confirmed reservation that starts the day after our arrival. Is it possible to add our arrival night by booking 1 night for each studio directly through Disney reservations? If so, will we stay in the same rooms or have to switch? Just trying to think through various scenarios and options.

Thank you!

Not guaranteed. Cash nights and points night use different system.
When you check In, GET CM to get you the same room.

After you book the cash studios, call Disney reservations and give them the confirmation numbers for the cash studios and the rented studios and ask them to put a "continuing stay" notification on those reservations. (Pair them - one cash studio with one rented studio, then the other cash studio with the other rented studio.) That will let the room assigners know what the situation is. It's best to have the DVC owner you rented from do the same, going through DVC Member Services, but I know that may or may not be possible. In any case, when you arrive for the first night, go to the front desk and ask whether that notation is on your reservations and if you're assigned to the same studios for the rest of your stay. If it is, you're all set; if it isn't, that's the best time to have a chance of fixing it. The resort will try to keep you in the same rooms - it saves on housekeeping costs.

Thank you for the info!
