We have an old park hopper no exp. ticket with one day left on it. I am headed to WDW for the Food and Wine Fest in Oct, and plan to visit parks for two or three days.
Can I add another day or maybe two to the existing ticket?
If so, will the new day also have to be a park hopper day?
Will the cost be the current rate for the new day I add?
Any chance of finding out prior to arrival how much the one extra day would cost to add?

There's an excellent Ticket FAQ sticky on the Theme Parks Advice & Strategies board.

No, you can't upgrade any ticket that was first used more than fourteen days ago. You can use that one as is, or save it. You'll need to purchase a new ticket for the other days you plan to visit. Since, once you get beyond three days, it's only about $3.20 per day for additional days, the longer your ticket, the better the price.

Since you will be going for just three (or two) days, now is an excellent time to use that old ticket with the single remaining day and buy a new ticket for the rest of the vacation. Here the old ticket saves you the cost of day #3, about $70.

For vacations of four or more days and not enough old tickets to cover it all, it is better to save the old ticket and use just one new ticket to cover it all.
