Add a day?

We have 4 day base tickets and MNSSHP tickets purchased for third week in October. Can we add an extra day onto the tickets on our third, forth, or fifth day? Would we still get the discount for multiple days? Do I have to add the day for the whole family or can I just add it for those who want another park day?

Yes, you can add whenever you want. Yes, you will get the "discount". Yes, you can add individually or as a group, each ticket stands on its' own merit.

since you mentioned fifth day with a four day pass. Unless something has changed which I am not aware of you need to add the day on our before the last day you use the tickets. In other words once all 4 days are used and it is the next day you can not longer add a day -- well you can but you will pay full gate price for a one day ticket....

Nothing has changed.
But, your info is one of those often-repeated bits of inaccuracy.

A ticket can be upgraded as late close-of-business ON the same day that the ticket's last asset is used.

Otherwise, a guest who started with just a one-day ticket could not decide to upgrade to more days during the day of the original tickets use.
