Add a day at Universal

Hi everyone!

I had decided that I would do 2 days at Universal, but the Canadian dollar is seriously putting a damper on any time outside of Disney. (I have free QSDP dining, and my friend and I share a lot of meals, so really, we can manage quite cheaply). A taxi from Disney is about $40 each way, which is about $55 CAD, plus tickets. It's a lot when it adds up. I already bought the 3 day star connect card (if that's what it's called, I can't seem to ever keep that in mind!) but we haven't bought our tickets. I was thinking we could buy a one day park to park ticket and then upgrade that afternoon/evening if I felt like I needed that second day. It's sad because I really want to need that second day yet my wallet is telling me I don't! If I bought a one day park to park ticket from Undercover Tourist, can I upgrade that day at Universal?

Yes, you should be able to upgrade the tickets at the gate. Most people recently have paid the difference between the gate price of a 1 day ticket and the gate price of a 2 day ticket. Online there multiday tickets are $20 cheaper than gate price (and Undercover tourist is $30 cheaper than gate). You would probably be better off price wise buying the 2 day ticket because Undercover tourist only has $3 off a 1 day ticket.

Try uber for rides instead of a taxi, they offer a free ride for each person who signs up

After thinking about it a little, the cheapest option might be the 2 day ticket plus transportation from Dreams Unlimited especially if it's just you. http://www.dreamsunlimitedtravel.com/universal/# You'd get 2 days admission and 2 days of shuttle transportation for $232.55.

Thanks everyone! I reminded my friend about the 3 day star connect that I'd already paid for, and we've decided on 2 days (again!). We may or may not be there 2 full days, but I'm sure we'll last longer than my sister did! Last year I was cranky because the first day at Universal, my sister, her husband and my niece left around 2:30. We split up, they went to the outlet and I went back to ride Escape from Gringotts single rider. They picked me up again around 5ish. The day we went to Islands of Adventure, they went to the car and I refused to leave until I got to walk around Hogsmeade some more and do the Castle Walkthrough! This time it was before 1pm that they were done. I really don't think they are related to me at all! LOL I hope I'll last until closer to dark at least one of those days! I doubt that it will be completely dark even if we stayed until close as the parks close at 8:30. I am looking forward to a longer day at least! Hee hee hee!

This year, My friend and I think Uber is the way to go. She is trying to use her airmiles to get her tickets and seeing if they'll ship to the resort. Unfortunately, I'd be taking a big risk to use UT at this point, since they might not arrive before I go. I'll just order through Universal since it's really only about $10 more than Universal. (That $10 becomes around $13-$14 at this point, but that's livable!)
