I booked FP today for me and my 3 kids. I couldn't book for my husband since he doesn't arrive at the same time as us.

When I book FP for him, should I just look for 1 FP in the same time frame or do I use the change party feature to add him to my existing FP?

Whichever works.

Did you Try to make FPs for him?

If he has tickets attached to his name, you Should be able to make his FPs WITH yours WHEN you make yours. So long as he has tickets attached, then I would go ahead & attempt to Change Party to add him NOW.

If that does not work, then like Robo said - you can do either Change Party or attempt to search for an overlapping single FP for him. Sometimes it is easier to get a single FP for harder to get attractions (FEA, 7D, FoP...)

I did try to book for him. The system said he didn't have tickets.

Me and kids arrive on Aug 25 with a room only. no tickets on that reservation for anyone 60 day window is today

Husband and the rest of us are all on the reservation starting Aug 26.

I successfully booked FP on 10 days starting Aug 27 ending Sept 8 for the 4 of us on the room only reservation.

I tried to add him to our FP after the fact. It asked me to link his tickets. I used our reservation number from Aug 26. It wouldn't accept it. I tried to add him as a friend, but I guess that didn't make sense since he's on my MDE account. I tried to just select him to make 1 FP+ -- none of these things work.

The reservation that your husband is on begining Aug. 26: is this a room-only reservation as well, or a package including park tickets?

Aug 25 room only, me, 3 kids, no tickets
Aug 26 - Sept 9 Package: 14 day MYW - 10 day tickets and dining package, for me, husband and kids

I appreciate your help.

MYW pkg is what's giving you the problem.

Okay, gotcha. So if that package starts on the 26th, then your 60-day window opened today, but your husband's opens tomorrow? (60 days from Aug. 26 = June 27.) I find it strange that you were allowed to book all your FP for the rest of you today since you have a split stay, but maybe it has to do with FP being linked to tickets rather than hotel stays (FP policy has been changing recently it seems to keep people from abusing the system and booking extra ones, etc.) That should be resolved tomorrow.

And to answer your question, I'd try changing the party first to see if that works, and if it's not available for the new party then don't modify, and just look for single ones for your DH instead. Or then if that doesn't work, when you go to change the party on a FP it will give you other available options for your new party size if your old FP isn't available, and if one of those options works for you, you could always pick it instead.

okay --so when I try to add him to my existing FP, the system isn't actually looking for room for 1 more, it is now looking for a party of 5 FP. That is why I may need to look at both options?

Correct, I believe that's how it works. But a party for 5 and a party for 4+1 should be the same to the system, so if there's availability for one then I suspect it will work to just change the party. The tricky part is that there may not be availability for one, but there may be a FP for 1 person where the window begins 5 minutes after yours. So while you may not be able to find the exact same times for DH for all of your FPs, you may be able to have all of his FPs overlap with yours by choosing times that are 5-10 minutes offset, etc.

How was she able to do herself and the kids though? Aren't their tickets on the package too?

Frankly, I was surprised to learn that I could book FP based on my room only/no ticket stay. I didn't know this last year. This would all be resolved if Disney would let me book a 15 night stay. It's annoying to have to book this way. I hate wasting a ticket on arrival day, so I arrive the evening before. Last few times I didn't have to switch rooms, but that's not a guarantee.

I believe I understand now.

Thanks to all for your help.

I just noticed that I received a reminder make your fast passes email at 10:54am EST today. I wonder if I'll get another reminder tomorrow

How was she able to do herself and the kids though? Aren't their tickets on the package too?
Because she has tickets linked to her & the kids from the 2nd resort reservation/package - and the 2 resort stays must be linked on her MDE.

The system 'sees' that she has an 10-day ticket associated with her name (and the kids). The system also 'sees' that her 60-day resort window opened today (for the 1st stay). The question is: Why doesn't it 'see' the tickets for her husband? (ie does MDE have tickets linked to him?)

Grand scheme - if you are able to get on tomorrow & make his FPs, then you are probably going to be just fine. If it does not work tomorrow (starting at 7:00 am EST), then you will need to call to get everything linked properly.

Ughhh... I hate that I can't tell if it is linked properly now. I mean, I can see his name on the reservation. I can see this on my MDE
10 Day Ticket w/ Park Hop and Water Park Fun & More
Tickets: Park Hopper + Water Park Fun And More
Age: 10 and older
Assigned to: my husband's name here
Non-Transferrable

This is repeated for me, kids and husband

Is it a problem that will be resolved tomorrow? I'll be able to either change party or add one FP? Or a problem I need to call about?

Tomorrow (6/27/17) at 7:00AM EDT is your actual "official 60 days before check-in" FP+ time.
