Just got back from seeing Adam Lambert at the Hard Rock Casino. OMG. He puts on a great show!

Its a small venue and because our tickets were some comped to a friend, it was in the "general audience" area so we stood the whole time but it was a lot of fun! And we were pretty close to the stage.

I took dd and her bff and bf. I thought that I would stand out like a sore thumb (being the only 50 year old standing there to see this man) but boy was I wrong! I had no idea that so many people from such a wide age range would be there.

There were a couple of little old couples about my mom's age there just rocking it out. :rotfl: And lots of middle aged women.

DD and I have both always loved hearing him sing, but she has really started listening to him since he is now on Glee.

My friend (she had to go down to pick up the tickets and then she gambled while we went to the concert) said that was the biggest crowd she has seen at any of the shows she has gone to. It looked sold out, but like I said, its not a huge venue.

First time I have been to a concert at a smaller place like that, we will definitely go again. Like it a lot better than the concerts at the huge coliseums.

Now if I can just get "If I Had You" out of my head!

I LOVE him :lovestruc Sounds like it was an awesome concert!

I've seen him twice in concert and once at a tv show taping. He has such an incredible voice. He's even better live than he is recorded.

I'd love to see one of his Queen concerts.

Glad you had a good time.

I've liked Adam ever since he was on American Idol, love his voice and have his CD's.

I probably wouldn't go to see him in person as I'm not a fan of standing up at a concert. I'm short so can't see anything if people in front of me are standing up, even with me standing up as well. But I do enjoy listening to his music, and I'm 56. ;)

Well as I will be 60 in just a few weeks, I would be one of those oldies rockin' it out if I could see Adam!!! Love his voice! (and he's certainly not bad looking either!!)

Well here is another Adam Lambert fan! I am 53! He is great on Glee! He is so handsome! Great voice and lots of talent!

Don't have any CDs and I do not watch singing contest shows or Glee, but I did tune in when Adam Lambert was on AI and only for him.;)

Something about him screams performer to me. Plus I like the personalities that are not afraid to be "real" in a sense. I just get that vibe from him.

Glad to hear he is still making the rounds and out there performing. Oh and I am 48, lol.

I've not seen Adam Lambert, but really enjoy small venues. DW and I recently saw Night Ranger at a local casino. It was great! Maybe sat 400 people, went to the casino after the show, and then retired to our room upstairs rather than having to drive home late at night. Hope to do it all again real soon!!

Ah, well if we are talking small venues, saw REO at Billy Bob's in TX, when we lived there. It is a different type of concert.

Hope to head to the "The Pageant" in St. Louis and see some shows there soon. I have seen comedy shows there but have not gone to a concert yet.

The Night Ranger show was at River City Casino. We loved it there! Haven't been to The Pageant yet, but hear great things. Did you ever get a chance to go to Westport Playhouse before it closed? It sat about 200, was designed to be accoustically perfect, and the stage was in the center of the room slowly turning during the show. Amazing venue!

Oh, speaking of REO, they played a school dance at St Francis Borgia in Washington just before they hit it big :rotfl2:

I only went to the comedy shows at WestPort at the Funny Bone I think, never a concert. Saw George Carlin there.

My SIL saw Little River Band for free at a park in Sept. She said they were great.

I would go to concerts all day long but DH is not up for it and my younger dd is only 17. I know she would go with me.;)

The "GO Magazine" in the post on Friday's has most things listed for fun. This summer I am going to try and see some free things. Plenty of old bands out there touring.:thumbsup2

Now I don't feel so odd! Most folks around here my age would rather see a country show or a performer or group from the 70's.

He really is a great performer. He did some songs from Queen, I would love to see him with them too. He really does have an amazing voice.

Just found out Daughtry will be at the same place in January! Off to see about tickets. . . !

If you love him but didn't see him on Glee you've got to look up his "audition" episode. Can't remember what song he did (Lady Gaga maybe), but it shot right up the iTune charts.

We saw it. LOVED it!

I despise Glee since season 2/3-ish and will never watch another second of it purely on principle, but I've liked Adam since early in his run on Idol. I think I saw his first concert tour eleven times. He's an extremely talented singer and a very charismatic performer as well.

About a year after Idol ended, he and two others from that season did a small GA show at a venue here in NYC where you had to win tickets. I won four of them and me and three friends waited out in the cold in February for about 10 hours to get front row. :lmao:

I'll never go to a general admission concert again though - I ended up having knee surgery after being knocked down and trampled in the pit at one of his shows in New Jersey. Someone needs to tell the crowds that GA doesn't necessarily equal a mosh pit, especially at a pop concert.

I'm a Daughtry fan too! :)

I've only seen snippets of "Glee", just not a show we're interested in. But I will have to see if I can check out his "audition" episode to hear him sing, I'm sure I would enjoy that.

I don't think I'll ever "grow up" as far as music is concerned. I love so many different kinds, and still love crankin' up the volume both at home (one of the reasons I'm thankful we live in the country so I can turn it up loud!) and in my car. :) I remember back when our son was in high school, he had one of my cassette tapes in his car and his friends could hardly believe it was mine, as it had Led Zeplin, Whitesnake, Poison, etc. :)

That's exactly why I have not gone to a concert at the Hard Rock before! That was what I was expecting. Plus there is a bar at the back of the room and I didn't really want to go home smelling like alcohol from it being spilled all over me or some drunk hitting on dd. But it wasn't like that at all (I am sure it is at some but wasn't at this one) Every one was having a great time but nothing got out of hand.

He is very charismatic and just seems to be having fun up there. I hate going to concerts where the performer just stands and sings. I can listen to the radio or CD, I like to see a performance and he certainly did deliver that.

There was a man who had his little dd on his shoulders over to the side of the stage. Adam made a point of going over to her and singing right to her. Really sweet.

He had to make an announcement to tell a young girl that she needed to find a security guard to take her to her mom (who had gotten sick in the casino). He made sure to tell the officer to please take care of the girl and when she left out, he smiled kind of sadly and said "bless her heart". Just seems like a nice guy.

It was funny, the differences in ages there. The little girl on her daddy's shoulders was probably around 5 and having a great time. Lots of teens, middle aged folks all the way to elderly. Just not what I expected at all.

Of course the older couples were in the balcony in seats and I think if I was taken a young kid I think I would seat up there too.

I have seen Adam live, but only on the Idol tour. I felt really bad for Chris Allen (who never should have won anyway) but they performed in the order of their finish. So Adam was second to last, and Chris was last. Adam electrified the building, people went crazy, then Chris came on, and it all just kind of fizzled.
He also lights up Glee when he is on. That show has gotten so bad, but when he is on the screen, it's all good again :-).

Love Adam Lambert, here. He is playing New Years Eve about 1 hour drives from my house at Winstar Casino in Oklahoma. Should be a great show, but spent all my money on Disney and Christmas this month.

I like Adam Lambert now. I didn't like him right after AI, when he was trying to pull a Miley Cyrus and use shock tactics rather than his talent to make a name for himself. But he has been great on Glee.
