actual summer discounts??

DOes anyone think they are going to release more summer discounts?? Im staying at All Star Sports Aug 4-7th then switching over to DVC and would love to upgrade if there is a discount offered!

I wouldn't expect a discount code for those dates.

The only thing I can think of is trying for a AAA discount (room only, through phone call at WDTC) if you are a member. If you aren't a AAA member, you might be able to enquire about whether there is a discount available, and then join AAA if it seems like it would save you money.

Last year discounted room only rates were released around the 13th of February for the summer months, I am right there with you wanting a better discount then I already have.

I never even applied the AAA discount to my reservation. Ill just wait to see if anything else comes out.

There were room only discounts last summer and a gift card offer (I think). I remember booking it by the end of March so they must be coming soon. My dates last year were July 23-25th. This year I need July 31 and August 1st.

I too am looking for 2 nights before our DVC stay and I'd like an AP rate but will book a general public code if that comes out first (which it usually does..)

Those summer dates (like July and early Aug) were released mid-Feb I think last year. I also think AP rates were out by the end of March. Hopefully they'll be out soon so we can all do our budgeting!

I agree! Not sure whether or not to get an AP so I can get a room discount or just wait to see if another discount comes out..

Codes in the summer, esp. June and July, have always been slim pickings. I would like to see one (AP or room only) for Aug. 12-13 as our DVC stay starts Aug. 14th, but also waiting for a Universal passholder rate to be released too because we would stay there on Aug. 12-13 if there is a deal.

Correct, anybody can call in and receive this discount. I would suggest calling WDW and telling them you want to book with the late summer discount that starts on the 14th of August. No code needed.

OR, you can book on the website, just scroll down to the bottom of the main page and click on special offers. Select the late summer travel discount and from there it will prompt you to check for availability and then to make a reservation.
