Actual experiences with Edison cover charge?

I understand that the official line is that there may be a cover charge for entry to the Edison after 10:00 on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights. I am wondering if anyone has actual experience with the cover charge that you can report and how this is working in practice. We have a 9:00 Homecoming reservation and I think it would work better for us to visit the Edison after dinner rather than before, but we have a large party and are unwilling to pay $70+ just to get in the door. Am especially interested in reports from these recent spring break weeks as we will be there next weekend.

I was wondering the same - we were planning on stopping in after dinner at Raglan Road on a Saturday for drinks - if we get there around 9:00 and sit at the bar, will they approach us for the cover charge at 10:00? Or is it just if you arrive after 10:00 that it's in place at the entrance?...

Cover charges are collected at the door. I can't imagine they would harass people already in the bar for a cover charge. If one can afford the price of a Disney trip what's a few more $$ for a cover charge if you really want to do there?

We came in at about 8:00/8:30 on a Saturday night. We didn't leave till about 10:00. They did not come by and collect a cover charge from us. It was explained to us if you were inside already you would not be charged. I guess that can always change but that's how it was on the night we were there. We'll be back in a couple of weeks but unfortunately it will be after your visit.

Thank you @AngiTN. I have not actually read any reports of anyone having been charged so I am trying to confirm whether we would expect to pay a cover charge or not. Thanks again for your feedback.

I went in The Edison sometime around 10:30pm this past Saturday night. They were checking IDs at the door but weren't doing a cover charge when I was there. I hadn't heard of that happening.
