Anybody have any suggestions for senior activities. Kids grandparents are going but don't want them to be bored. Any suggestions? What are the age ranges on the ship? Is there a number of 70+ year old passengers? Will they feel comfortable?

DH's grandmother really liked the bingo when she cruised with us.

There are so many adult only activities on the ship! You may be surprised though. They may enjoy watching the kids interacting with the characters or just playing in the pool. :)

Adult pool, adult nightclubs, the art of entertainment series, bingo, just sitting around on Deck 4 doing absolutely nothing. I think there are quite a few cruisers who go without kids, so there are many things for them to do.

I forgot the spa and Palo! :goodvibes

The DCL ships are wonderful opportunities for three generation family travel. If only my own DM liked beaches, we might be able to convince her to go w/ us and enjoy her DGS's pleasure on the Magic or Wonder, but she is orthodox HAL, and has taken their ships to Europe and Scandinavia and Alaska (and didn't particularly like the Alaska cruise, described it as "snow and ice...and more snow and ice...and then around the next bend, more snow and ice, and some souveniers of carved things she didn't want".

She offers to go to WDW w/ grandchildren, and I ask her if she wouldn't rather avoid the WDW lines, and also never be more than 900 feet or so, max, from her bed if she wanted to nap, and also have that same modest distance to follow around her DGS instead across Epcot, MK, AK, MGM, etc.

The kitchen tours, wine tastings, behind the scenes sessions, are all among the activities that might attract the 70-something crowd, along with the piano bar in the evenings, and the CM's are happy to help and assist those who might need some assistance because of mature years. And the production shows are family friendly, and the comedians during the Walt Disney Theater shows are family friendly, too.

I agree with logan1 2000. :flower:
As a grandparent who has done 7 DCL cruise and have booked, 8 , 9 and 10 already. we have gone as a couple ( of crazies), with kids and grandkids.
There are so many things to do, we still havnt done them all. :confused3
The last 2 cruises they had a special time just for all the grandparents to meet and socialize, as most of them are paying for the cruise. ( or so the joke goes). We thought that was a great idea, but we didnt have the time to go. We enjoyed the culinary demonstrations too. :earboy2: I was surprized ,but we really enjoyed learning how to fold the bath towels to look like the animals you find on your bed each evening too. My GK's are amazed to see what grandma can do!!! :bounce:
The best part of the cruise is you can be as active or as quiet  as you want. if you want quiet time, go to an adult area or retreat to your room and put out the do not disturb sign. If your raring to go, there are always activities happening everywhere. :cheer2: Lots of older couples seem to get a kick out of the game "Know your mate"? :lovestruc  it's similar to the newly wed game on TV. Usually the couple that has been married the least and longest amount of time are chosen to participate, along with one other couple. I think that grandpa and grandma will have the time of their lives. I wish you all a Magical cruise.

IMO Disney it the perfect vacation for any age!! One can do as much or as little as they want. We took a family reunion Magic Christmas cruise with our children and grands and it was wonderful!!!!

We also did a Mother/Daughter cruise for our Mom's 74th birthday on Wonder, her first crusie ever and we could hardly keep up with her!!! :rotfl2:

We are adult travelers...we do the disney cruises with no kids. We love them. There is so much to do, if you want to keep busy you can go from morning until they shut everything down, or you can just relax..whatever you want. We have done it both ways..lol.

My IL's stayed busy. They went to Quiet Cove pool alot. I hardly ever saw them except at dinner time. I know my FIL took our DS once for the putting tournament. DS was able to help and scored several prizes for himself.

They have all kinds of activities. I suggest going to DCL website and looking at the onboard activities or looking at a navigator from a website.

A few activites that I can think of are....wine tasting, beer tasting, tour of the bridge, dance lessons, kite making, putting tournament, Palo's brunch, Palo's Tea, walking, rainforest treatments at the spa, spa treatments and all kinds of fitness lessons, etc...
