Activities for 15 yr old Bday Party!

My DD, who just turned 15, is having her birthday party soon. The party is at our house. I don't want anything too, too messy and it must be activities for girls and boys. Since there will be a few boys at the party. The boys don't care if they do girly things just nothing like painting nails or anything like that.

At my DD's 16th or 17th party(I forget) They played charades, Twister, Spoons and the tapping game. (you lay on the floor with your hands in the circle or something, the kids all seem to know how to play it)

There were boys and girls. They laughed so hard and had a really good time.

One of the best was when 3 boys got "nuclear bomb" and acted it out. she showed me the pictures and they were all laughing so hard they were crying.

How about Minute to Win It games? You can get the game ideas on their website (I think). I was just watching this the other day and was thinking of doing some of these for a work event.

Apples to Apples is a fun game--my teens love it.

I would have a bunch of board games or ideas handy, but they may just want to "chill". You know--hang out, eat pizza (or whatever), listen to music. But, have the games visible, so they can play if they want.

I would have no idea, because my dd14 hasn't wanted my input for her parties in years! She either tells me what food she wants, or asks for money, and shops herself.

This is my DD15, too. But, she has a summer birthday, so it's a lot easier. The kids all hung out in the yard, on the trampoline, etc. Then last fall, we had a birthday party for our Spanish exchange student--the kids just ate and hung out. The craziest thing that happened was when they got me to play "Stairway to Heaven" on the piano--okay, not too weird, but not what I expected.

All they would need would be a Wii. Music and standing around outside was the rage at my nieces Sweet Sixteen last year. They did dance a little. I remeber how stunned she was that I knew the words to Journey songs---then I scored points for having been to their concerts

That's a great idea. The Wii doesn't seem to be very popular with DD and her friends. The last party we had at Christmas they ended up putting music on and dancing for an hour. Jumping around the house would more describe what they were doing!

Thanks for the help. We got everything for her party yesterday and today. I took her to Target and let her go around by herself to get what she wanted while I had Starbucks!
We got hand sanitizers at Bath and BW to go in good bags along with chocolate and silly bands.
I showed her the thread and with your help we decided to do this:
5-5:45 eat dinner--- pizza, calzone, chocolate covered pretzels, and chips. Do you think everyone will want to make the preztels at the party are should we make them beforehand?
Just Dance Wii tournament.
Glow Sticks and Manhunt once it gets dark out. Incase it rains, she picked out fome pic frames to decorate.

I'll have Apples to Apples on the table along with a deck of cards incase they get bored. DD said her and her friends always like to play cards at lunch at school.

honestly at that age they are going to want to hang out, maybe listen to music but not necessarily want to to "play games."

yeah, i'd throw a few games on a table-jenga and some decks of cards or/and Apples to appless, make sure good music was there and give them food. Goodie bags and structured activities would just not cut it around here. I mostly have boys in my house though.

One cool idea is to invite friends and sleep in a nice fancy hotel...
I did that a few times with my friends. We got a suite. .

Hmmm. I would also suggest a day at the mall, then movies and dinner and just spend the entire day with friends and hanging out.

We've never done favor bags, per se, with this age group. However, I don't see a bunch of teens turning down B&BW stuff, glow sticks, or silly bands, so I think you're doing good there. In fact, the Spanish exchange kids we had, had never seen either glow sticks or silly bands. They went nuts for them! Every time the group got toether (15 Spanish kids, plus 15 or so local ones), I always gave them a bunch of glow sticks. Luckily, it was October, so they were easy to find--they went through tons, but were only here for 3 weeks, so why not enjoy it?

In 2 weeks, DD15 is going to Spain--and bringing, you guessed it, glow sticks and silly bands.
