Active Magic Bands

I am a passholder who booked a last minute stay at All Star Movies for this weekend, so our magic bands for that trip are going to the hotel. Is there any need for me to swing by the hotel desk to pick up those bands, or can I use any active magic bands from our previous trips for our park tickets, photos, purchases, and hotel key? I think that I can use any active band for these things, but would hate to regret not picking up our new bands first if I am wrong.

Your current MBs will still work.

If any are over 3 years old, they MIGHT not work for the "automatic" on-ride photos...
but, that should not be a major concern.

You can pick up the new MBs (the newer Type 2 "icon" kind) when you do finally get to the resort.

Bands are connected to your MDE account. As long as you are using the same MDE accounts for your previous magic bands and your new reservation, all bands will function the same.

You can use the old ones.

But the ones waiting for you are likely the new version so you might as well get them.

As a person who has never gotten "bypass the desk" with online checkin I would warn you that you might have to go to the front desk anyway.

You can customize your bands at any time, they won't ship until about 30 days prior to your trip and as others have stated the new bands are already being shipped.

I customized our AP bands a couple of weeks ago and got the new bands yesterday. Not sure I really like them.

I'd expect a 2.0 "icon" MB for most any upcoming trip from now on.

fyi: bands picked up at the resort (generic or customized) are still 1.0. rumor has it tomorrow is when that changes but we'll just have to wait and see
