Activating tickets @ GCH entrance to DCA?

Does anyone know if tickets can be activated/used for the first time at the GCH entrance into DCA? Or do they have to be activated at the main gates? We will have either hard tickets or the e-tickets with the scannable barcode, and we are planning on entering DCA as our first park around 10 am on our arrival day. We're staying at VGC so if we can use the hotel entrance into DCA that would be great, but I don't want to waste time going to that gate if we have to use the main entrance on the first use. We are hoping to snag RSR fastpasses before they run out for the day, so every minute helps!

The GCH entrance to DCA can accept any tickets (or printouts), the same as the main gates.
It's better to use the main entrance for the first hour after park opening (EMH or regular), since the GCH entrance is rather slow when there is a line.

True, but but by 10am it shouldn`t be too bad, depending on what the opening schedule is.

Yes, as others have said...you can activate your tickets at the GCH entrance.....just make sure it is past park opening. You will know that right away.....if there's a huge line, go to the main turnstyles! Also, you will be able to exchange your e-tickets at check-in (or at the entrance...)

We used the GCH entry this week for regular entry and were let in 10 minutes early and there was no line at all (9am opening for everyone). If we would have used the main entrance, it would have taken us longer to walk and its hard to believe there would have been zero guests in front of us.
