Activating Ticket Before Package

I need some help. Our trip dates are Thursday Oct 22-Sat Oct 31. Our first two nights will be at Pop, then moving into the Beach Club Saturday 10/24. We have a room only reservation that night, as we wanted to get the free dining offer that begins 10/25.

The current plan is to arrive late Thursday and crash. We plan to go to Universal Friday as we still have active AP's from our January trip, and then on a monorail tour and over to Ft. Wilderness for a carriage ride. I have an 8:05 Boma reservation Saturday morning, and I'm hoping we can leave straight from there and enter AK.

I have confirmation from a phone CM and from live chat that I will be able to activate our tickets a day early. (I know that that means pretty much nothing, which is why I'm checking here). I have also seen other Disers mention doing this, but not in a recent report. I'm not sure if we can activate early because we will be at the same resort Sat-Sat, or if I am just allowed to activate early just because? Would it be necessary to actually check in at BC before we can activate our tickets? It sounds confusing to me just typing this out! If we can activate early without checking into BC, can I just go to Guest Services at AK and do this?

Our back up plan is to sleep in a bit, hit Boma later in the morning, DTD and mini-golf, then check into BC and swim and eat at Beaches &Cream, so there is no "bad" day either way, but it does affect my planning for later in the week if we are able to hit up AK Saturday.

My current understanding is that package tickets can be activated up to 10 days in advance.

I thought it was up to 3 days in advance. Following to see other responses.....

It's now 10.
Checked and verified by on-site DIS member reports.

Awesome! I think we will add a couple of days to our base ticket and try to activate Thursday when we arrive. Do we need to go to a park Guest Services or is this something we can do at the hotel?

And, there is something very significant about the now 10-day-early activation.

It means that guests can receive and, potentially, -fully use up- all 10 of their theme park "days" before checking into their package resort.

I'm thinking that an upgrade to AP might be the logical outcome in such a situation.

SOMETIMES the resort concierge can/will do this.
It must be at the resort at which you will be checking into for the package.
And, the concierge must be willing and trained to do the procedure.

If the resort concierge will not or can not, where else would a person go to get their tickets activated? We have a RO reservation at AoA but our package begins the next day at CBR, we'd love to get to a park during that day at AoA!

At any of the Guest Relations booths... outside any of the parks, or at TTC, or at the two Guest Relations locations at DTD/Disney Springs.

I was told by a cast member-friend, who works in Guest Relations, it is 3 days prior to your package and you can do it at any Guest Relations at parks or DTD. The Resort may or may not do it. We asked as well because we would like to activate our tickets on our arrival, the day before our package starts.

It has (within the last few weeks) changed to 10-days-before package check-in.
