activating season passes

What is the process of activating season passes that you have already purchased at the disney store. Can it done at the resort? Is it a picture pass? About how long does it take to activate???? Sort of what is the process like?

We just returned Sunday from a week with the mouse and had to activate two vouchers we had bought from TDS. We went to guest relations at the MK, we had to show ID, and they took our vouchers and then exchanged them for our APs. Then first time entering your finger scan is done, then you repeat this each time you enter a park. Also, told to be sure you carry ID, if for some reason finger scan doesn"t work they can check name on pass to your id! Was easy, just disapointed not on heavier plastic like a room key! Hope this helps!
