Activating Hoppers

As you may know, DH and I will be in WDW for the first time in October. How does one go about activating their hopper passes? I thought since I had the days, we would get it activated on the day we arrive, even if we only have a few hours to visit a park and that way we wouldnt have to worry about it on our first full day.

It's activated the first time you enter a park.

To activate it means you are entering a park which uses a full day off of your ticket. So, don't do that the first day if you don't intend to use a day off the pass.
