Thank goodness this board is so busy, so folks won't recognize me as "that neurotic first time AP-er"! To refresh your memories: we arrive at the airport at 6:15 p.m., are taking ME to the Poly, checking in (AP rate) and then dinner at Ohana (9:00 with DDE card). When I get to the Poly, can I walk over to TTC to activate my AP? How late will the window be open? Or do I go to MK? I'm just totally uncomfortable with going to dinner without having activated the AP and then trying to use my DDE.

thanks for holding my hand through this traumatic time,

NB

HEllo, been there, tried that. :( Unfortunately, when I tried the people at TTC looked at me like a two headed snake! :rotfl2: Seems that there is no longer a place at TTC to do that. YOu now must go to a park to acivate. Good news is that in addition to the monorail to MK there is also a resort launch that goes from the Poly to the GF, then the MK. That stays open till like 1 to two hours after the park closes. When you check in at the Poly, see if they ask for the AP first. If they do, explain that you have a voucher, offer to show it to them. They'll see that you are sincere and most times will just ask that you stop back by with it once it's activated. That's what happened to us at YC. Also, if you already have your DDE card, they never ask to see my AP, or even ID. Enjoy! When are you going?

It was your bad luck to get a CM that said no to you. Vouchers can be exchanged at any park ticket window including any one at the TTC. A visit to Guest Relations is not required to do the exchange. This is true at any Disney theme park.

For future reference, there are busy times like morning park opening that the ticket booth CMs will occasionally send you over to GR to do the exchange. But as a general rule, if a ticket booth CM tells you they cannot do it and there isn't a huge line of people waiting to buy tickets, ask nicely for their supervisor.

You don't need to show your AP to use the DDE card, just your license.

Okey dokey- thanks for the help. We fly on the 25th of this month...the wait is killing me!

The official line is that you have to have an activated pass in order to check in with the AP rate, although I had no problem checking in at the CBR with just a voucher. I also arrived late (didn't get to the park until 6pm), so I bussed over to guest relations outside of EPCOT and activated the pass. There was nobody in line and it just took a few minutes (I did have to show my driver's license though). It was easy.
