Activating AP at MK or TTC

We will be getting to the Poly at about 8:30 PM and I was hoping to activate my AP that night. MK has EMH until 10 PM. Will both the TTC and MK guest services still be open?

Does activating the AP start the countdown clock? Or does the first use? If activating starts the clock, then you would be losing a day, since you are activating a day before you go to the park.

Can you activate at Polynesian? We are considering same thing

Generally, it has been the case that the resort concierge desk is not properly equipped to handle AP matters.
(Although, it MIGHT be that their computer systems and CMs can now do it.)

You can always "ask nicely."

We have always had to go to a guest services window to activate our AP. Asked at BWV and AKL and told no. YMMV.

It's a quick walk from the Poly to the TTC, that is why I was asking the question. I am thinking that is our best option as long as they will be open.

We called 800 Disney number last night to upgrade our ticket and the cm said she couldn’t do it and that we had to do it at poly? We said are you sure and she said yes. We asked how much it would be and she said there was no way for her to tell us?? I think I will call again today.

Upgrade from what to what?

And...
Once at WDW, there are upgrades that can be done via your MDX account.

And...
This thread is about activating an AP.
That is a different thing than upgrading, and is not handled in the same way as an upgrade.

I'm sorry I didn't know there was a difference?

The differences between the various subtile aspects of ticket upgrades (including, but not limited to, APs) can be very confusing.
These processes can be so divergent that many WDW CMs who work in ticketing at the parks are not
versed in proper procedures... and (sadly) much LESS informed are the CMs who work dealing with guests on the PHONES.

Thank you! Certainly the phone rep was a little uninformed bc she said she couldn’t look up what I paid? I was hoping, like the original poster, to avoid activating at guest services at a park due to the long lines... hoping poly can do that

1. due to the long lines...
2. hoping poly can do that
1. If you don't go to Guest Relations at a "peak time," there's no reason to expect to encounter long lines.
2. Maybe.

WHY? Why does an AP need to be "activated"? If the clock doesn't start until first use any way, then why not just have it active upon purchase? Why does Disney make this extra step necessary?

You can also activate an AP at any ticket window, including the "Will Call" ticket booth just outside the MK entrance.

They need to physically check the photo ID of the guest who will be using the AP.
