Activating an AP Voucher

What have been your recent experiences when activating an older AP voucher?
Did you have to pay extra or did they simply give you the equivalent of the Gold DVC AP without photopass?

All reports are you get the Sorcerer pass with photo pass this year for free since Gold had it included. . But it has the block out dates that go with Sorcerer..meaning thanksgiving is blocked but Easter weeks are not.

Just activated our Gold vouchers on 10/14. Rec'd the new Sorcerers pass with the photo pass add on. (Automatic, we didn't have to ask for photo pass add on). We don't travel during the black out periods for either the old Gold pass or the new Sorcerers Pass, so that didn't matter to us. Did it at Guest Services at the EPCOT IG entrance. CM asked to see photo IDs and our membership card. Took about 15 minutes to do. Had to wait about 10 for a free CM.

Thank you both for your replies. I have 4 or 5 more old AP vouchers, and I get 2 years out of one. So I am guessing I cannot count on that being the policy continually until all are activated. (I bought extra AP vouchers in 2009-2011, planning to retire.) I guess only time will tell what they will give me in the future for exchange, and if I will have to pay extra.

My best guess is that you will just get the Sorcerers Pass (no free photo pass add on) in future years.

we did this on Nov1st at Epcot guest relations and got sorcerers pass with photopass for one year. all smooth and easy done in 5 min!

I had a 3 day ticket. Called in early oct to upgrade it to DVC sorcerers pass. Paid my money. and it showed up in my DME. I could book park days as needed.

Went to EPCOT member service window 2 weeks later. She scanned my magic band, looked at my blue card and drivers license. handed me my AP card and I was done. Took less then 2 mins.
