Activating a Gold AP for (minor) guest travelling with us?

We are headed to WDW next week and will have a family friend with us. Her parents are also DVC members and qualify for the Gold AP, but will not be with us on this trip. She is 11. What would we (or her parents) need to do to make sure she can activate her AP?

I’ve seen posts re similar situations. The parent called MS, who put a note/gave them a special number in the file, and the child brought a copy of the parent’s DVC card (maybe a copy of the parent’s ID too, can’t remember) to GR to activate the AP.

Hopefully someone who has had actual experience with this will chime in with details (and corrections!).

After getting bounced a bit with the AP help desk and no clear answer, I did have her dad call MS to see what would be required. They did just that. They opened a ‘Magic file’ and gave me the number to present with her and the AP voucher. We’ll see how it goes next week as far as actually working, but it seems easy enough to me.

We have done this method several times over the past few years and it works flawlessly. My daughter always has a photocopy of my blue membership card with her as well.

That's great to hear. Thanks!
