I know this is going to sound so trivial... but here it goes. I thought this might be the best place to post but if I am wrong please move it!

I leave for DISCON at 3am tomorrow morning. I am packing. I got my acrylic nails redone yesterday so they would be great for vacation. I broke one trying to close the suitcase.

I am not even done packing yet!

Question... is there anywhere on Disney property that does acrylic nails? Or someplace close? It broke pretty far down so if it actually comes off it is going to be really really painful! I'm trying to fix with glue but this is not going to last for ten days!

Any ideas? Help!

I believe there are salons at the some of the deluxe resorts, I'm just not sure they do acrylics. If not I'll bet you could find a place just outside the World....like on US 192 or the area outside Downtown Disney. Will you have a car?

paras4ri,

I won't have car... *pout*

supercarrie...

Thank you! It is expensive isn't it?! I am staying at the Dolphin and then AKL so I will call their spas when I get there but it is great to know that the GF does it... maybe it wouldn't be an arm and a leg for just one nail... just a finger... *giggles*

Thank you both... what a silly little problem.

I feel geeky...

I once got a very overpriced haircut at the Yacht/Beach Salon. They also had a nail station.

What annoyed me more than the price was that the place was a dump. It's very small, and it had a cheesy vinyl loveseat in the waiting area. If you're going to charge those kind of rates, then I expect a bit of luxury.

BTW, they only had two stylists working there. Every time the phone rang, one of them would have to stop what they were doing to answer it. They had no receptionist.

Thanks for the info Regina...

I might look them up because they are close...

How disappointing. The place I normally get my nails done is really nice in the front... but the bathroom... omg. It's literally in their storage area so you are there with all the boxes of supplies, and the water heater and all the pipes! And you have to go there to wash your hands after the acrylics... there is a bowl of pot pourri on top of the water heater though... hmmm....

I guess Disney knows they have a lot of people that can't leave the property so they have a captive audience...

Taryn, the hair salon at the Dolphin does acrylic nails too :teeth:

I am so excited that you will be here tomorrow!

I got my hair cut at that place at the YC/BC too. What a rip-off. They charged me like $70 and all she gave me was a trim.

As long as you are prepared to pay the price, I'm sure most of the deluxe resorts with salons do acryllics.

See ya in a few days, Taryn!

Katholyn,

That is exactly what I wanted to hear! Yay! I feel so stupid... it's just a silly nail... but have you ever had one break like halfway down? Ouch! If I can finish all this crazy packing I'll see you tomorrow night... I so hope my room is ready because I need some sleep badly! And I am not going to get it tonight! I am willing to take a broom closet if I can lie down in it for a few hours when I arrive!

Thanks snoopy...

I can't wait to meet you... My visa is clear and my boyfriend made me promise not to calculate from Canadian funds to US... just to have fun.

*still feeling silly about a nail*

Taryn, I have had my nails done at the Dolphin (acrylic) and they did a good job.

And yes, I've had them break way down and it HURTS!

Safe trip!

I broke a nail too....can I get it fixed at the Dolphin???

:D
