We are NOW redecorating our office. We are going with a "Cowboy/Western" theme.

I'd like to find some good, roughed up, perhaps even rusting horseshoes.

We have a horse stable of some sort (public, I believe) not far from our house. If anyone owns, or frequents stables, do you know if they could sell us two?

I can't help you on the shoes, but my mother collects horse brass. She has quite a collection. It might be worth considering to add to your decorating theme.

:laughing:Just call and ask! What's the worst they could say?

Here are somne links and phone numbers for local stables. You might also try calling around to some antique stores. They might have the older looking shoes you are looking for.

I'd stop by when you saw someone out there, and tell them what you need. They may not have them right away (they may not save them, my blacksmith takes mine, as they were just collecting dust). But, I'm sure they would let you take two! Cool theme!

Oh, WOW, thanks! :thumbsup2

I am sitting here thinking... DUH, Northville!

I really appreciate that, thanks! I will call them tomorrow!

I didn't realize (or forgot) that you lived here somewhere!!!

I don't, but google and cut and past are my friends.;):goodvibes

Shoot, I just found a pretty old draft horse size shoe the other day at the barn where I work. If it wasn't so heavy, and you weren't so far, I would get it to you! I know it's not from one of our horses as we don't have draft horses and the current owner has been there about 10 years, so it must be older!

Yes, stop in at one of the stables. I know we wouldn't mind putting old shoes aside for someone who wanted them. Maybe bring a container for the shoes.

It's a FARRIER. And yes, try giving one of them a call. Our farrier usually dumps his old used shoes in our dumpster after I comb through his pile and take what I need for summer camp crafts.

Oooops. I always mess that up, even after paying FARRIER bills for over 10 years! LOL

You don't spell nickel like "nickle" by an chance do you? That's been driving my crazy on the DIS for the past couple fo weeks. Oh well. :)

OP: good luck getting your shoes!
