Wow...didn't see this problem coming (and honestly it isn't that much of a problem other than my complete lack of knowledge).

We are going to WDW March 3-5. My husband's uncle is a DVC member who "gifted" us his points for the stay. He did it for us this past September too...totally spoiled us! Anyhoo, Uncle Awesome booked us I THOUGHT 2 nights at BCV in a one bedroom. Turns out he ACTUALLY booked us at BWV in a deluxe studio. Thank God I was tinkering with the maddening new website Disney has and trying to link our dining ADR's and just happened to ask Uncle Awesome for the resort confirmation # to link it to our account. When he looked it up for me and said BWV I was shocked! Don't get me wrong...I have no issue with the resort (other than abject terror of the scary clown pool)...it's just that we had been planning everything around being at the Beach Club.

So...question one: Is the scary clown pool (shudder) open at that time or is it being rehabbed? If so, will we be allowed over at SAB? Part of why we wanted BCV originally was to use SAB. If we HAVE to hang out with pennywise we will. ***shudder***

Two...any difference in a deluxe studio or a regular studio? He apparently booked a garden or pool view.

Anything else we need to know about the resort? We really just wanted to be in walking distance to Epcot so I'm okay with the last minute change. And frankly I'd sleep in my car in the parking lot just to stay at Disney.

I'm also a little leary since i HEARD that BW would be the first resort to roll out the MyMagic+ stuff in February. I was hoping to avoid THAT until the kinks were worked out!

BWV is our home resort - you'll love the access to Epcot. If you feel like walking to DHS, it is pretty easy from the villas as well.

Yes, the Luna Park pool is supposed to be closed until April. So, according to reports, you should be able to use SAB. If you ever find yourself at the clown pool again, rest assured that it is our favorite slide (we've tried them at AKV Jambo, Kidani, Poly, BLT).

A deluxe studio is a studio. You'll have a queen bed, a pull out sofa, a bathroom, and a kitchenette. With a pool/garden view, you could request a "Village green" view. This will be a view of the courtyard area between the villas and hotel above the Wyland Gallery. This would afford you a partial view of the boardwalk, and you'd avoid the "scary clown pool". If you don't get Village Green, you could also request a view of the canal that leads to DHS, thus avoiding the feature pool.

I hope you enjoy your stay. We really love it there!

P.S. I have no knowledge of the development of the FP+.

BWV is one of our home resorts. We absolutely love it there. I think you will be fine.

BWV is our home resort and that being put aside, having stayed at most of the other resorts, it is indeed our favorite. Walking distance to Epcot. We usually ask for a boardwalk view and one night at 1 am woke up to a "practice" run of a new fireworks show they were planning. We opened our blinds and literally layed in bed watching. Awesome resort!!:goodvibes

BWV is an easy walk to both HS and Epcot. I thought the BWI was the first resort for Magic+. You will love the BWV, so much to see and do. And with the Luna pool rehab you will be able to use SAB.
