Ack! Animator's Palate knife on eBay!!!

ebay disgusts me....so much of what is for sale is like this.....so completely lacking in all ethics....

i don't understand how ebay gets away with having pilfered merchandise sold on their site....

I saw two plates on Ebay from Animators Palate, thought it was horrible. I didnt buy the Im an authorized seller in the description either.

I sent the link to Disney so they can look into it. We will see what happens. pirate:

If DCL took care of the people in the video links that were sent to them, they should be able to take care of this. :thumbsup2

I thought that those were older plates that were no longer used because I have read descriptions of them. Are they now on the Dream?

Right now anyone selling stuff on Ebay knows that people are searching for items from the MV. There are auctions coming up that have nothing to do with the Dream with words those key words in them. There are even pins being posted from the Disney Dreams show on the Magic/Wonder that are coming up.

Just sitting here waiting for the 1st post from someone saying DCL costs so much its ok to take things from the ships.:confused3

A thief is a thief, plain and simple!

I was curious to see what happened to the listing, so I emailed the seller pretending to have been interested and got the following reply:

Dear prodogwalker,

Yes I do but I will not be around when the item ends so I had to pull it. Sorry for the inconvienence. I will let you know when I decide to relist it.

Since their other items end about the same time that this one was supposed to, I'm guessing that eBay made them pull the listing. Way to go DISers!! :yay:

1/3 of the knifes have disappeared. :scared1:
We got told during presentation on board.
They are going to stop using them, if they cant keep them!

Peter

I say all of us DIS'ers should make a pact not to take anything offboard that we're not supposedto, if it means we won't get tot enjoy them if people keep taking them! Of course, knowing us I don't think many of us would anyway! Yay DIS! :P

I manage a resort and if you take something from the hotel, I will charge your credit card the full price of the item! If Disney dosen't do the same then it's just bad business. Those silly little accent pillows cost my property $50 a pop, or should I say it costs the theif $50 a pop.

I can't believe people steal stuff off the ship. Half of them probably loose it or stick it in a drawer and never look at it again. What is the purpose? Obviously those who sell have more they are going for, but it is terrible. I also can't believe anyone would buy that stuff off ebay. Those who know better and buy anyway are in the wrong as much as those who stole the item to begin with.

It reminds me of the cool salt and pepper shakers Rainforest Cafe used to have, but got rid of because they were constantly stolen.

This does not surprise me at all. When I saw them in photos my first thought was those are going to grow legs.

They are really neat and if they were offered for sale they would probably loose less and could make up some of the cost of losses. Like the pillows which I would imagine have been walking away as well. I know I would buy both.

From what I have read online Disney tends to not charge people for missing items. I hear stories about those iHome radio's often walking away and no one ever being charged.

:eek::eek:

Man, I just don't think this would have happend 50 years ago, can you imagine people doing this on the Titanic? Honestly, I believe people think they are entitled in this day and age to so much more than life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness...when the pursuit of happiness succumbs to theft and 'me first'...we are in for a sad sad world.

I will add, I would be thrilled for them to scan my luggage/purse/carryon at the end, if they find any knives/etc...fine the heck out of the ones who do it...surely they can see knives in a handheld scanner!!

Speaking of pepper shakers...do you think people are dumb enough to be stealing the ones from AP too?? It honestly sucks to think that we may not ever see these things in person because people are stealing them. :sad2:

I do hope that DCL will make, for purchase, some of these items. It won't stop a person from taking them, but it will slow down (hopefully) people taking them, and the items will have less value on ebay.

I had asked the seller of the knife about a CM being able to sell an item bought from the CM's store.....and she/he had an explanation that there is some kind of form that they would sign at the register, there were some items (like Hummels) that they cannot sell, but other items are okay.

I'll have to ask my friend who is a CM, about this.

I was on the MV and did see different people with boxes of champagne glasses...now whether they were used by family members and the person just needed a box to carry them could be possible but I was surprised.

There were many champagne glasses stolen by passengers from other passengers. I saw people walking around on deck reaching into groups of people taking glasses. I also spoke with CD Rachel later who confirmed that passengers had complained about setting their glasses down for a moment only for it to disappear.

...that particular morning arriving by DCL bus was the way to go!!!

Maybe not. We took ME from BLT and arrived at the terminal after 1:00, got boarding number 26 and didn't get onboard till 2:30. I think that being DVC and using ME from a on site property is actually a disadvantage.

I, too, am REALLY disappointed that by the time I cruise on the Dream (in late Sept), all of these neat little items will either have been stolen or DCL will stop using them in order to stop the thievery.

I know that people may have the attitude that they paid plenty for their cruise, and that they're only taking "one little thing".....but when that many people are of the same mind, it adds up.

Rude, inconsiderate, and ILLEGAL.

What upset me the most about the whole trip (and it was my fault for getting to the port early (well what I thought was early) at 9:30 am) was that there were so many people in front of us that we were just past the overhang of the roof over the pick up drop off area. So when it started raining and the wind started blowing we were getting soaked. My husband just kept giving the look like "I told you we didn't need to get to here so early". I could deal with the weather. What I could not deal with was the people that kept getting dropped off under the roof and then not proceeding to the end of the line. They took one look at the line and they knew it was raining and they would just mingle with the people in the line in front of us. This happened time and time again over the course of an hour so where we may have been 200 back in line at the time we got there.....by the time they started letting people through the gate we were 400 back in line...that was frustrating. I asked the CM's (not the port people) if they could please direct people to the end of the line and they told me there was nothing they could do. What put the icing on the cake was when the DCL buses started arriving and those people just walked right in the terminal from the other side while the whole line of people who arrived via other transportation where not even through the gate yet. Not their fault at all...just the way it turned out....that particular morning arriving by DCL bus was the way to go!!!

I was on a cruise two summers ago, and it was raining on embarkation day. I didn't notice the DCL busses, because I was too busy trying to keep my lap top bag dry....but we didn't have ANYONE try to cut the line to get under the cover. People complained, but they went to the back of the line.
:confused3:confused3:confused3

Maybe the whole "Maiden Voyage" thing just made people lose their minds and manners???

I think line-cutting is awful - it frustrates me so much and is the height of bad manners IMO.

I can, however, explain why the Crew Members couldn't do anything. Being Crew Members they are not allowed to 'work' on land - they can answer questions and 'advise', but not work. The authorities in Port Canaveral are VERY strict about this - so much so DCL and some crew have been in trouble for doing things like helping carrying luggage, helping the people in the terminal reset a crashed computer and such like. It sounds very petty and it is. What should have happened IMO, is the crew advise you of this instead of just saying no and getting a Port employee to deal with this.
