We are planning a Disneyland trip in Spring or Summer, 2020 with a family of 6. We plan to spend at least 3 days in Disneyland, a day at Universal Studios and maybe a day trip to Hollywood. We are looking for a nice suite or condo/townhouse close to Disneyland. I have looked at Clementine Hotel and Suites but some of the reviews are not very good. I have also looked at Residence Inn by Marriott suites - which could work - but wondering if anyone can recommend other places. A townhouse/condo that we would have more space (3 bedroom) would be idea - I just don't know the area so don't know where to look.

Have you looked at the Cambria Hotel? It's opening in October and they have one and two bedroom suites: https://www.cambriasuitesanaheim.com/rooms/suites/ I was tempted to book for our November trip, but the prices are a little higher than I want to pay, though less than some of the other "suite" hotels (Springhill, Homewood, HoJos). The Best Western Raffles also has larger suites for very reasonable prices.

You'll have a hard time finding/renting a vacation home/AirBnB/VRBO in Anaheim proper. They are in the process of being heavily regulated to the point of shutting most of them down. A legal battle is working it's way through the courts now. The vacationers I know that have attempted to rent lately have had their reservations cancelled as soon as they ask about the property's permit status, which tells me there's a fair amount of unscrupulous people trying to make money off of unsuspecting vacationers :(

I rented a townhome a few years back through Mrs. Mouse Townhouse, and it looks like they're still in business (I do remember the owner/manager telling me at the time that Anaheim was increasing taxes on rentals like hers, I assume she's just incorporated that in her pricing). It was nothing fancy, but the price and location were great - we had anywhere between 5 and 7 people staying there at once, and having the extra space was lovely. Good luck with your search!

Thanks - I read something about the City of Anaheim was banning short term rentals. I was really hoping to find something larger than the suites at places like Residence Inn but may sure if that will happen.

Maybe you could rent Disney Vacation Club points and stay at the Grand Californian Villas? Or maybe you could just get a 2 bedroom (rooms connecting) suite and one more room at a closer hotel. Don't know what your budget is like, or what you want for a hotel. How nice do you need it to be, do you have kids coming who will want a nice pool, how important is it for you to be within walking distance? Distance is the most important to me, I refuse to stay anywhere not within 10 minutes' walk; I won't take shuttles or try and drive there and park.
