Accomodation with restaurants nearby

Now we've decided that it's August not Easter 2008 I'm onto accomodation. We use II to book, but there isn't much information about nearby restaurants on the properties they've got. And even if it says there are restaurants nearby, how do you know whether it's near in a car or on foot!

We do hire a car, but it's nice to be able to walk to a restaurant so we can both have a drink after a tough day in the parks.

Can anyone suggest II resorts that have a number of restaurants within walking distance? We know that Vacation Villas at Fantasyworld do, but we like to try different places out.

We're not bothered about being on Disney's doorstep - as I've said we will have a car for getting around from day to day.

Cheers.

Why don't you get each resort address, put them into www.mapquest.com and then you can plot every restaurant or shop or whatever including exactly how far it is from where you are staying. It is a great website and can be used to pinpoint anything you want.

If you're not staying on site - the nicest area close to a few restaurants and DTD is Lake Buena Vista, especially Palm Parkway area.

Interval International? :confused3 Timeshare exchange people - I think you can use your DVC points for different vacations...

Yes, Interval International it is. We've actually got Sunterra points, but can only book 10 months in advance for US Sunterra resorts and I would sooner pay an exchange fee and know we'd got somewhere we wanted before then.

Thanks for the suggestions. I had wondered about the Lake Buena Vista area. I will do the mapquest thing as well and see what it comes up with - if I've got a few options when they tell me what's available that's better than panicking over what to choose.
