Hi we are going to Florida for the first time 14 December next year (2009). We are wanting two weeks in a villa, but not sure where to be. I have had some quotes back two of which are favourable (under £1000.00 including pool heat):yay: . The areas are Pinewood country estate and Southern Dunnes but by the look of the area's they are quite far out.

Im not sure if villa owners on this forum are allowed to PM with there details, if you can i would be happy to receive them. I am looking at paying not much more than the above but a little nearer to the magic would be more suitable.

Even if anyone has any opinions on the above communities that would be fab too.

Thanks in advance

You are going at a very busy time so many villas might be rented. By Villa, do you mean condo or house? I am having a lot of success finding 2 bedroom villas/condos on Redweek.com and they are better priced as they are timeshare owners bound to a date so if you find yor date, they will negotiate I think.

If you want a hme, go to VRBO.com and look for the size you need and start emailing people.

If you saw something for $1000US then that is a great price for that season I think. But I have not heard of those communities and have been renting houses for 7+ years so I am guessng they are pretty far from the parks. Better off to look in Windsor Hills or Palms, Inian Creek, Emerald Island or Formosa Gardens. These communities are right at the Animal Kingdom (5 minutes) and 10 min to MK which is the furthest from the house. There is also a clever way to avoid the 192 which saves you lots of time!

Hi

Pinewood seems to be a lot more out of the way than southern dunnes. But thanks for the info.

I have not stayed at either location. Looking at the maps, they are a little further out than I have stayed before. If I had to guess, you would jump on I-4 to get to the parks, so that may not be too bad. We stay a little further out because we tend to get better prices that way. Being a little further away is not bad, but you may be disappointed if this is your first trip. The bottom line is you need to do what fits your budget. You are going during a very busy time, so prices will be higher than if you were going during low season. I am not sure what your needs are, but have you checked out Lindfields? They are closer and tend to have good prices since the homes are a little older.

Good luck.
