Would you secure your accommodations before finding decent flights?
So many people have told me this isnt a good idea but places are selling out and rates just keep climbing for where we want to stay.
I figured I should put a deposit down since our dates are firm anyways, then worry about flights.
Thoughts?

I always buy airline tickets first. It's much easier to change a hotel reservation, and it's free, unless you chose a pre-paid type of reservation.

I always book the room and then the flights. I can always go back and change my room reservation at no cost. That isn't always true for my flights. If your dates are firm and inflexible, then book the accommodations now and then focus on getting decent airfare.

We always book our room first, sometimes 11 months in advance. Then we watch flight prices until something shows up that we can live with. You can always change your room reservation, but unless you fly first class, you can't change your flights. Rooms at WDW fill fast, we booked 7 months ago for August, and there has been nothing at 8 of the resorts we would stay at for the past 4 months. We booked flights 2 weeks ago.

If you are talking WDW, book first. If you mean for a night before or after flight later.
