Does anyone know how far in advance companies like travelocity, expedia etc allow advance booking for hotels. I have FINALLY found soemwhere that suits our families needs but when I key in our March 09 details they keep coming back with no availability. I dont know if that means they have sold their allocations or if they havent released them for sale as still too soon. It seems odd that they woudl have all sold out although it is the week before next years Easter holidays?? Do people phone directly or book online?

This is the first time we have tried to book all seperately so any tips gratefully appreciated:worship:

We booked to go with Virgin 1st Apr 09 for 16nights,i booked our holiday as soon as dates were released with Virgin, which was Dec 07.Even when i did book, the Easter school holiday dates were flying out the window.I know some people on here have had trouble trying to find Easter dates now available-good luck and hope you get what your looking for:thumbsup2 .
I know the info i have just provided may not help you,as you're wishing to book seperatley(we always go for the package deal with Virgin),but just wanted to let you know how quick certain dates+accomodation go pretty quick.x.

See this thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1841480
I have posted showing how to get great rates with Hotelopia. You can book now for Mar 09, just did a dummy booking for last 2 weeks in Mar. some prices looked quite good. For eg Windsor resorts jumped out at me, 2 bed condo under £28/night a bargain, I paid £60 direct with an owner this Easter.

Thanks soo much - you Orlando Veterans are such a great help to us novices. I hope I will be in a similar position as you guys in the future and be able return the favour to newbies. Will let you know how we get on

Also Wayne G is it your opinion that Kissimmee is a good location? We are currently looking at LBV so we can hopefully walk to Downtown Disney some evenings (if not too tired). I have made a provisional 10 night booking at Quality Suites (formerley Palomino) but can cancel up to 48 hrs prior, so will continue to look at options. We want to push the boat out and book our last 5 nights with Disney, but not sure if that will be possible as that will coincide with the 1st week of Easter Brit Invasion (sorry I mean Vacation)!

Hi Kaz sorry been out Geocaching for a few hours, got some new software for my PDA/GPS worked a treat, found the caches but had to go thru a lot of mud, rabbits were out everywhere this evening.
Kissimmee is a large area. Over to the West, Best Western Lakside is classed as Kissimmee by many, great location up Sherberth road can be in Animal Kingdom in 5-10 mins. Over to the East I would stay upto around the Old Town area. Beyond Old Town is really where I feel Kissmmee starts, then no I don't like beyond there. I would stay between Old Town and Black lake(BW Lakeside) on 192 but still much prefer LBV. All depends how much travelling you want to do to get to the parks.

Thanks Wayne. Ive got a great map recommended via DIBB boards by Steve Munns which is REALLY useful. Ive checked out Hotelopia and there are some great bargains. Maybe Im tired though *** Ive looked up Cypress Pointe Grande Villas which comes in at £49 per night and was all for reserving when I noticed the map feature which directs you to an area way off LBV (although it is in the LBV category). This one is apparently situated east of Lake Eleanor and north of 482 Sand Lake Road rather than in central LBV. There is a Cypress Pointe on the map in central LBV but I have no street names. The street name is Treasure Cay Lane and on another search it puts me right back where I want to be. However Ive been caught out before booking a resort with the same names but differnet districts, and I am wary of booking without confirmation. Do you call the companies direct? and if so where do you locate contact numbers? Soo many questions but so important and really appreciative:worship:

Try this map. hopefully it covers Cypress Pointe on Treasure Cay Lane. You can zoom out look at it as a map or a satellite view as a photo.

Use code 358422, just tried it for next March gave me 10% off. Also book thru Quidco.com and you will get another 10% cashback so if your dates are £49/night You actually pay £39.69

I suspect the map on Hoteolpia is incorrect, looks like someone has entered the location as Treasure Drive. The location is the map above.
This is their website http://www.cypresspointe.net/
I know a few Dissers that like here.

Wayne
