Accessible room availability

I am tentatively planning a trip for my family of 5. We would like to stay at POR as it is the least expensive option. We require a roll in shower for 2 of my children. There are none available on the website that sleep five for our dates. There are rooms with roll in showers that sleep 4, and NON-accessible rooms for 5 in all categories (standard, garden, preferred, etc...)

Is it worth a call to Disney to see if they have other rooms with a roll in shower for five, or does the website display all that are available? If I do call, is there a special department or phone number?

Thanks in advance, I really wanted to stay onsite and the family suites are out of the budget.

The website should show the same availability as phone CMs will find, but you can try calling. Have you tried shifting your dates by a day one way or the other? It's possible there is just 1 date that is causing the challenge. If it happens to be at the beginning or end of your trip, you may be able to shift your plans one day.

There aren't many options for families of 5 to stay onsite without doing deluxe resorts or DVC rentals, and fewer are accessible rooms.

Good luck with the planning and enjoy your vacation!

I would definitely call as there may be something they can do. It is always worth a try!

Yes, what they can do is tell you what is available at another resort that will meet your needs for the dates you want.
Unfortunately, unless someone cancels or you are willing to change your dates, they cannot just Create a rollin shower HC room to meet your needs. I am not saying that to be snarky but factually. If the room is not available in the hotel's inventory, it's not available. What are they supposed to do move someone else out of one of those rooms so you can have it? That's why your only options at this point for that resort are to hope someone cancels or change dates. Otherwise I believe your last option is to start looking at other resorts.
GOOD LUCK! :)

The roll-in shower rooms at POR & POFQ are designed for only 4 people. The rooms have a larger bathroom to accommodate wheelchairs, taking out the closet. They added an additional armoire closet in the rooms, taking out the space for the extra bed.

I am sure that POR will do all in their power to help. Give them a call. They are extremely people-oriented, & I just know they will help you.

If those rooms are only designed for 4 people the OP will need to book 2 rooms. No way around that.

Op if you put in 4 people and they pop up you'll know that's why and can go from there on what to do.
