Hello all! I've been looking around for a window unit to put in our tent. I found one that is a good price at target, but it says it is 15 amps, and that "hi-tek camping page" says not to use anything over 6 amps.

So my question is has anyone used a window unit with the higher amps?

Any pictures or advice for using an ac in the tent would be appreciated as well. We'll be there July 30-Aug 6. :cool1:

I dont see why you couldnt use higher amps as long as you use the proper extension cords. I have seen the standup units as Walmart, these might work as well. There are previous discussions about this on this forum somewhere with pictures.

The power at Ft. Wilderness is sufficient to use whatever you would like. Just get a hefty outdoor extension cord and you are fine.

I thought it would be fine as long as we use the right extension cords. Thanks for the replies!
