My question is we have a 6:45 Yachtman's adr on a Friday evening that Epcot has EMH in the evening and we will be driving our car to the resort..I was wondering if there would be a quicker way to get to Epcot if we left our vehicle at Yacht club or should we just drive to Epcot after our dinner that night?? Thanks

Definitely check on leaving the car, some of the resorts have a time limit (I think the ones around the MK).

But yes, you can walk from the Yacht Club to the "back" International Gateway entrance to EPCOT. You end up between France and England.

The International Gateway entrance into Epcot is probably quicker than driving and parking at Epcot. It lets you into the park between the UK and France pavilions. From International Gateway to the Yacht Club, it's probably a 10 minute walk if you're strolling, less if you walk quickly. That's one of the great things about staying at the Epcot area resorts - easy and quick entrance into Epcot.

The back entrance is open as long as the park is open, so you should be fine to get in after your dinner because of the EMH.

(Edit: The PP is correct that the resorts may have time limits (I think I've read that it's three-hours), so that might be a problem. I have read that if you do valet parking, then you can stay as long as you want.)

Plus you could always take a nice, leisurely boat ride to Epcot as well, if you're already tired our from your day! :goodvibes

Thanks yall..now i just need to find out if we can leave our car parked at Yacht club til 12:30am..LOL

Well i thought i'd call and find out..Said parking at a resort to gain access to a park is prohibited..So i guess we cant do that. They said we would have to drive to the park that we wanted to enter.

Even with your dinner reservation at Yachtsman? Seems like it would be a call for security. If you're going during Thanksgiving week, the lot will likely be full, so they'd enforce the time limit. During a less busy time of the year, they probably have more flexibility.

What about just using Disney transportation that night? What resort are you staying at?

We are staying at CSR so not sure how much time we would take up going disney bus or just driving

When you stop at the guard kiosk at the entrance to resort, they'll give you a 3 hour parking permit and direct you to the public parking for visiting the resort/restaurants/shops. They restrict those spaces to 3 hours, and have been known to tow cars with no permit or over time limit - they do this so people don't use the resorts for "free" parking instead of paying at park lots...and also to make sure hotel guests staying at that resort have spaces for their own cars.

But just ask them where to go for valet parking...because IF you pay to valet park at that resort (Yacht Club/Beach Club) you CAN leave your car there while you go to Epcot - the only time limit on valet parking is if you leave the car overnight, they'll charge you another $12.) Valet spaces are not limited -- they will just park your car elsewhere if need be...and they go fetch it so no big deal for you. Even though we'd have free parking in the Epcot lot (staying at Disney Resort AND we have AP), we still valet park at the Epcot resorts often...will cost you $12 to valet park (plus $2 or $3 tip when you pick up your car.) It's a great way to eat at Epcot resorts, and then enjoy the park. And the best part is, at the end of the night, you just exit through the International Gateway (between England & France), go to the valet desk, and they go get your car. No waiting for a tram, no hike across a parking lot & no long traffic snarl getting out of the park's lot. They pull up with your car, and away you go--no lines. It's well worth the $14 it'll cost you.

If you take a Disney bus from CSR to Epcot, allow an hour. Once the bus drops you off, you'll get in at the Future World end of the park, walk towards World Showcase, veering towards the right...exit Epcot through the International Gateway between England & France. The first resort on your right is Beach Club...keep walking-the 2nd resort on your right is Yacht Club. The restaurant is inside Yacht Club...would say from the time you get into Epcot until you get to restaurant will be a good 15-20 minute walk.

Or you can drive to Epcot, park for free, take tram to Epcot gates, & repeat above directions to walk to the restaurant.
