? about using Add on Points

Ok. We just brought into DVC and our home resort is BLT and thinking of adding on points for AKV. Would I be able to use them with my BLT point in future years at the 11 month mark for reservations for BLT or will I only be able to use BLT points. Thanks.

At 11 months only BLT points at BLT, AKV points at AKV. At 7 months you can combine them.

When you own points at 2 different resorts, you have 2 home resorts and can book at the 11 month window at each home resort only with the points you own at each home resort. At the 7 month window, you can combine the points and make a reservation at any DVC resort.

But you could bank or borrow and use two years worth of points at BLT for the 11 month window there, and then the next year bank or borrow for AKV and do the same thing at that location.

From 11 months to 7 months plus one day from check in, only home resort points can be used to book a resort. You don't even have to own there. You could have BCV points transferred into your account and book BCV 11 months out using those transferred points. So it's not being an owner at resort XYZ that allows you to book there 11 months out, what matters is having enough XYZ points in your account to pay for the reservation you want to book.

At 7 months from check in you can book any resort using any points.

Thanks for the info. I was beginning to get a feel that this is the way it would be. I think I will hold off adding on any points for now.
