I purchased a used car from a dealership on ebay. They had alot of positive feedback and dh looked at car before bidding.
When auction was finished next day we were in neighborhood and went to pick it up but did not call. DH is paranoid and wanted to just drop in for pick up. Dealer was flustered and said he tried to call us. He said when they were moving the car they hit the curb and put a crack in the body moulding/trim stuff around the door. He ordered a new piece right away and sent it to the shop to have the trim painted and put on. Could we come back tomorrow and pick it up. By the way this dealership is 2 hours from our house. That's one of the reasons we stopped by yesterday because we had to do something else not that far from there.
I'm getting nervous. I'm not sure what to do. Walk from the deal, look over the car really well, ask to see the receipts from the body shop to be sure this is all it was, etc. I got a good deal on the car and would like it if that's all it is. I think he should have offered to take some money off. But in reality if that's all it was and he paid cash for the repair if I walk he'll just relist the car and sell it to the next person and wouldn't really have to disclose this.
But I keep thinking some kid on the lot took it out for a joy ride, and had an accident.
It's a mustang gt.
