About trying to ride Mission Space early

I know you should try and be there for around 4:00 and look for the spinning globe, but if i see all this what should i do? will there be a line or do i have to ask a CM? I've made it my mission to not leave WDW untill i've tried this...

They were testing from Tuesday-Friday on the last week of June (we left on Saturday). If they open, it will be sometime around 4:00. On Tuesday and Wednesday we got there after 4pm and it was already opened. We got on the long lines and waited. Those two days the lines moved very, very slowly and completely stopped at times.
On Thursday we arrived before 4pm and the crowd was gathering. The Cast Members came out around 4pm but did not open the gate. It was really HOT in the sun. One CM announced that the official opening was August 15 and could not guarantee that they would open on this day, but we could wait if we wanted.
We sat in the shade for a while and then went in to Cranium Command and Body Wars. When we came out Mission: Space was opened. The line was really long, but to our amazement moved quickly.
On Friday we got there after 4pm and got on another long line. This time it really flew. Could not believe how fast we got inside.
It is truly an AWESOME experience. Just be sure to listen carefully to the instructions....they really matter!
Also, on the inside after the ride is a really fun team game on the right and individual games on the left. You can also send free video e-mails. They don't look like much as you are recording them, but after they add the special effects they come out great!

I got there just before 4 and hung around. I basically walked on. I did try to ride it again, but they were doing one of their test stops. (The manager said they have to stop the ride, act like something is wrong, fix it and re-start. The joys of testing!) I bailed out on the second ride, but can't wait till they do open it.

I hope it has a single riders line!

Myself and DS did it 5 times this past week. Be there at 4 and if you see CM's standing around, you will be able to get in.

One day, it opened about 5 minutes before 4. But I noticed no activity on the weekends. A lot of people working on it probably just work during the week and then they do a "preview" in the afternoon.

The only had 2 centrifuges running, but a CM said a 3rd would be online this coming week.

What time does it close down again? On the day we will be in Epcot we have a PS at 3:30 at the Garden Grille.
