About "travel with" numbers and room requests

Hello everyone,

Question for some of you experienced DVCers out there. We are making our first trip to Aulani in Feb 2013. Our plan was to get the Grand Villa for my family of four, SIL, and another family of four. We were 5 points short. I didn't realize we couldn't buy the one time use points until the 7 month mark so now our GV dreams are flushed away.

I booked one 2 bedroom and one 1 bedroom instead and made a request that the rooms be close. Both are standard view. What are tha chances of that request getting filled? Obviously there are a lot of variables and Aulani being a new resort makes it harder. I am just looking for anecdotal evidence of your experiences with these requests.

Nevermind. Booked a 2 bedroom lock off for the first night and will be booking the GV for the rest of the trip. Will have 5 points to spare.

Great solution and call back at the 7 month mark and see if you can buy the points to complete your stay if not no big deal!
