Our DD and family have recently closed on a new member purchase at BCV. I need to transfer some points to their account. Has any one ever transferred points ? Is it hard to do ?

It isn't hard to do, but for us it took a little persistence. I was originally told by Member Services that a 3 way phone call would need to be set up between both DVC members involved and MS. Later I was told that I could just fax them a request with both member names and numbers included. (We were transferring points out of our account into the other member's account. ) So I faxed MS, instead of the 3-way call, as I thought it would be easier. The transfer didn't happen, so I called MS and this time was told to e-mail them. So I sent an e-mail and a few days later I called to make sure the transfer had been done, and it still hadn't, but I was assured they would complete it, and they finally did. So it did eventually work!
Someone else may have a different experince to report.:D

I just did a transfer into my account. It was very simple for the person transfering in but when I called to make my reservation DVC had the points listed under my VWL contract and not my BCV contract (which both have the same use year). It seems as if once they put them into my account, they lost their original identity. It was pointed out on another post that DVC's computer system does not track the rules set down by DVC on transfers too well. It all worked out after being put on hold off and on for about twenty minutes.

I have made three point transfers this year and all of them went very smoothly. I was transfering to other owners that were renting from me. Key things to remember are:

1) Know exactly where your reciepient wants the points to go. Including what resort contract if they have multiples and what use year they should be applied to.

2) Remember that you can't give and recieve in the same use year. Don't transfer out if you think you might need to tranfer in later in the year...

That is about it, except of course for following up within a couple of days and making sure that everything went the way it was supposed to...

I understood you could only make 1 transfer per year, in or out.
Is this not correct?
What are the quidelines ?

It seems that DVC has changed the guidelines to be as many transfers in OR out in the same year as you want to do. So if you want to transfer out three times you can, you just can't then transfer in. It still doesn't say that in their Public Offering Statements but it has been talked about here for a while.
