About to Purchase - Add-Ons/Bonuses - and Cap on Points?

We will likely purchase into DVC within the next two weeks. Two questions:

1) Bonus for add-on points: The discount DVC is offering for AKL is $8 off per point you buy and SS is $10. In consdering how many points to buy up front,- we think we will start on the low side, and if we find we need more points in the years to come, buy add-on points say five years from now.

While I know that the price per point to buy more points will increase in five years, are there usually discounts when you buy-add on points? Or are you usually paying "full-prince" for add-on points after your initial buy?

2) Cap of points at a particular resort?: Say we buy into AKL and find that in five years, we want to buy 200 add-on points. Will those points definitely be available to buy *at the AKL*? Or can DVC put me on a wait list? I don't want to have points at two different DVC resorts.

If the AKV are sold out when you want to buy more, there won't be a discount. But yes you will be able to buy a sold out resort. You may have to wait a while but Disney will eventually come up with the points (or at least they always have). Or you can just buy resale which is quite easy.

They won't definitely be available but you can always buy resale. Since there are already AKV points available on the resale market, I'm sure there will be many more in five years. But that being said, Disney still sells sold out resorts when they have the points (which is often). Don't worry about maxing out since that number is very high.

if you do the add on through Disney, they give you the same use year I believe. If you go through resale, you get the UY of that contract.

Any add-on thru Disney will always be the same use year. If you buy resale, you could end up with two different use years, and two different accounts. If you buy resale and its the same use year, disney will combine the accounts.
